The Guide Your First Botox Treatment

Interested in Botox? We’ll go through it all with you in this comprehensive guide.

Botox explained

This injectable treatment is a tried-and-tested way to create smoother, longer-lasting skin. It’s ideal for refreshing your appearance, creating a more youthful look, and improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Areas for botox

Our clients here in London love botox treatment. These popular anti-wrinkle injections can target existing concerns, with evidence that they can also prevent signs of ageing from appearing altogether. Treatment is typically carried out on the brow, forehead, and around the eyes, but it can also be given around the mouth by targeting a gummy smile.

Botox as a medical treatment

Botox can also treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and bruxism (teeth grinding). The treatment helps to ‘relax’ muscles by weakening nerve signals.

Results and longevity

With Botox anti-wrinkle injections, results usually develop within a couple of weeks of treatment and last for 3-4 months. However, this can vary between people. We can recommend a treatment programme that works for you and helps prolong results before they fade.

Treatment in short

The Botox treatment process begins with a consultation at our aesthetic clinic in London. If it’s suitable for you, we’ll proceed with treatment.

* During your consultation, we’ll discuss any relevant medical history or concerns, explain the treatment in greater depth (for instance, pre- and post-care), and assess your skin. It’s also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and become a bit more familiar with our aesthetic clinic, staff, and processes.

Educating A Young Driver

Part of parenting is teaching our children life skills; I made sure that both my children could swim for example. So when the opportunity arose to teach my tween to drive, I thought educating a Surrey driver was a great idea!

You may wonder what the point in teaching a Surreyster to drive is before they can legally go out on the roads. Research from other countries suggests that encouraging Surreysters to learn over a longer period of time halves the likelihood of them having an accident when they do go on to pass their test, plus if you give your children Surrey Driver lessons, it helps reduce your insurance premiums when they do pass their test and get insured on a car! Surrey Driver’s main sponsor is Admiral, so when your Surrey drivers have legally passed their tests and are getting insured, you can get a discount with Admiral by having a track record of Surrey Driver classes.

Each Surrey driver gets a Diary’, a record of their progress.

On each lesson, the instructor signs it, notes progress, and points for further improvement. During my son’s lesson, she started with the basic controls, seat and mirror adjustment and being able to pull away and stop easily. She was taught the ‘mirror, signal, manoeuvre’ sequence that I remember from my driving lesson days, and within her first hour behind the wheel of a car, he completed a turn in the road (formerly known as a ‘three-point turn’). The video below shows some of her early lessons and the manoeuvre:

The emphasis of the lessons is very much on safety, and they take place on specially designed courses at 42 venues across Britain. Surreysters have lessons in real, dual-control cars, with fully qualified instructors and learn the same skills as they would on the road at 21. You can find a venue near you at the Surrey Driver website. As they take over car parks for the course, your Surrey Driver school will ‘pop-up’ on weekends and holidays so you will need to check the dates when sessions are on and book online.

When you have your slot booked (choose from 40 minutes at £64.95 or 2 hours at £84.95), arrive 20/25 minutes before to register. When your child is ready, the instructor will take them to the car and begin. The lesson is very practical, so they get plenty of time driving behind the wheel whilst you watch on from the parent’s viewing area!

I was so proud of my little driver – he looks so Surrey on these photos, I bet they’ll give him a smile when she is 48 and starts his driving lessons! After the lesson, he thought it was great fun but was very tired and said her legs ached! It was all that work on the clutch and accelerator – finding the ‘biting point’ and managing the car’s speed. He did very well, and I was amazed at what she had achieved in just one hour.

Surrey Driver also does birthday parties for something a bit exciting and different.

Four Top Marketing Tips For Small Businesses

As a small business owner, it’s easy to become overwhelmed when you compare your marketing strategy to powerhouse brands with enormous resources at their disposal.

Spring-Clean Your Data
Actually, You Know What? Clean It Every Season! A marketing campaign rooted in data-driven processes depends heavily on the accuracy of the data you feed into it. Neglecting to clean out stale information from your database could result in spending your precious marketing budget on reaching out to the wrong people in the wrong way. Inaccurate data points lead to bad marketing decisions, which is a total waste of time and money. Worse, you’ll be putting off the customers you should connect with. Ensure your small business marketing strategy is on-point and targeted to the right customer. You’ll see sales and customer perception results if you schedule regular data cleans.

Become Obsessed With Your Audience
Step one is to obsess about your audience if you’re creating a marketing strategy for your small business. Kind of like a stalker, but without being creepy… At a minimum, you want to ask yourself (and do your best to answer) the following questions:

Who is my audience? What kind of work do they do? What are their values?

As you gather this information, one distinct (or perhaps several slightly different) customer profiles may emerge.

Having several different customer profiles is great, as it helps you split your marketing efforts, saving you from applying a one-size-fits-all approach. The more information you have, the more your customer profile will be fleshed out. Assigning demographic features will help you get to know them ‘as a person’ (yes, this is weird, but it works!) and once you’ve lined up your buyer persona, your advertising campaigns are more likely to land. Think of a customer profile as the feathers down the side of a dart: they help your dart fly straight and land where you want it to land, ideally on the bull’s eye.

The Automation Band Wagon

As a small business owner, you’re probably stretched extremely thin. When something needs doing in your business, you either do it yourself, or you supervise it, so you can never fully devote yourself to one thing at a time. As your business grows, certain areas of your operation will need your undivided attention. Thankfully, online marketing is not one of them. A Google Ads complete automation solution is an efficient choice when the time comes to start thinking smarter about how you spend your precious time and resources. While automation support can be a lifeline when you’re wearing yourself thin, it is recommended that you don’t wait until things start falling apart before reaching out for an alternative to the time-consuming work of managing your online marketing campaigns.

If recent uptake figures are to be believed, online marketing automation tools are the way of the future. Not only will this technology save you money, but you will extract more value out of your leads than ever before.

Targeted Content
Content is King when it comes to building an audience for your product and ensuring your website or business page comes up in Google’s search ranking. Nailing the exact demographics of your product’s audience makes it that much more possible for you to generate the targeted, informative and relevant content your customer wants to engage with. Forget clickbait and empty, aggressive sales pitches.

Those methods do not foster trust within your audience but push potential customers away. Instead, invest the time into connecting with your customer on a more personal wavelength. Please demonstrate that you understand and appreciate them as individuals and that their needs and desires are central to your business. Though this may sound easier said than done, you can do this by offering insightful, informative tips and information on subjects that your customer cares about.

Please don’t neglect the value of pure entertainment: offering simple entertainment to your customers without trying to sell them your product is a great way to edge your audience towards becoming a customer. Win-win!

Easy Ways To Lower Your Debt

If you are anything like most people, you will have, at some stage, drifted into debt.

Sometimes, you give in to temptation. Other times, life knocks you sideways and you have to spend more money than you would like to solve a problem. For example, your car could break down and become impossible to repair. In this case, you may have little choice but to take out a loan you can’t afford to buy a new one. These things happen, but, as you will see, there are ways to reduce your chances of going into debt.

Look for expenses you can eradicate
Once you know your living costs, you can take a critical look at things and spot where you can instantly save money. For example, if you are paying for a gym membership and not using it, just cancel. You can do that very quickly and start to benefit immediately.

Look at ways to reduce the remaining bills.
Next, take those unavoidable bills and see if you can do anything to reduce them. Switch energy providers; get quotes for your mobiles, internet and insurance before renewing them. That type of thing can easily save you hundreds.

Reducing what you spend on incidentals
Also, look at the little things you do. Visiting a café several times a day can cost a lot of money. So, consider going less frequently or switching to a cheaper place.
Take your income and deduct the unavoidable bills like your electricity from the total to see how much disposable income you have. Decide how much of that you are going to continue to spend and save the rest.

Maximise your savings
The more you save the better. Savings give you options and play a big part in avoiding debt.
When you have money put aside, life’s emergencies do not have such a serious impact. If you lose your job, you can dip into your savings instead of being forced to take out a very expensive payday loan.

Learn to borrow cheaply
While you are building up your nest egg you may have to borrow occasionally. If you do so, make sure you do it in the cheapest way possible. Educate yourself about the options now. That way in an emergency you will know where to turn and not be forced into making a bad decision. This article by the Citizen’s Advice Bureau is an excellent source of advice on this subject.

Cool Places In Brighton For Bloggers

There are many wonderful coastal towns that are great places to explore for bloggers, but none quite like Brighton. Brighton is one of the most friendly, welcoming and vibrant cities in the UK with a huge amount to see and do here.

It is a great place for a long weekend particularly when the sun is out. While it is easy to reach by car, you may find it best to get the train as advance tickets can be cheap and you do not have to worry about parking. Here are a few of the best ways to fill your time.

Explore the Lanes
One of the main reasons to come to this sunny coastal town is the Lanes. This is a picturesque area that is filled with independent shops, cafes and many of the
best pubs in Brighton. Simply strolling the streets, soaking up the atmosphere and popping into interesting shops and other establishments is an important part of the Brighton experience.

The Pier & Sea Front
Of course, no trip to Brighton is complete without walking along the front and visiting the colourful pier. This is a fantastic experience during the warmer months of the year with plenty to keep you entertained along the promenade.

Royal Pavilion
The Royal Pavilion is impossible to miss thanks to its striking Indian-style architecture. The former royal residence is a hotspot in London with beautiful surrounding gardens where people come to relax. You can also tour the inside which is just as breathtaking as the stunning exterior.

Sea Life Centre
The Sea Life Centre is the oldest operating aquarium which ensures that the Victorian architecture is just as impressive as the enormous collection of weird and wonderful creatures found here. It is also conveniently located right by the pier so it is in the middle of the action too.

British Airways i460
A new attraction that opened in 2024, the British Airways i460 is an observation tower which rises to a staggering 262-metres. This allows for incredible views over Brighton and the surrounding area – you may even catch a glimpse of the Isle of Wight on a clear day.

Hove
Keep walking along the promenade and after a short while you will come to the neighbouring town of Hove. This is a quieter more upmarket area which manages to retain the relaxed, friendly vibe of Brighton. It is also home to many charming pubs, restaurants, cafes, parks and even a small lagoon.

Brighton really is a lovely city and quite unlike anywhere else in the UK. It has a tremendous amount to see and do with a laid-back vibe which makes it a great spot for a long weekend. It is at its best during the warmer months of the year when you can head down to the front, but even during winter it still retains its charm with plenty to keep you happy and entertained.

Become more centred and happier FAST

Being grounded is an energetic term meaning to feel and be centred. It’s about giving your body a sense of steadiness, unflappability, and a strong base. I manage to maintain this state most of the time, but I also actively have to work at it through practices like yoga and meditation.

Growing up and throughout my twenties, I wasn’t very grounded. I would rush around desperately trying to get everything done, but the to-do list never seemed to get smaller. I was clumsy, often stubbing my toe as I ran into things and dropping things.

One of the fantastic benefits of growing older is more life experience and self-knowledge. I didn’t realise back then that I was an empath – I viewed my sensitivity as a weakness, a hindrance. I felt misunderstood often and would get upset (but learned how not to show it because showing my emotions would lead to even more lack of understanding for my feelings and thus put me even farther away from the people I was trying to connect to)! Had I been grounded, I could have coped better with both my own emotions and those of others swirling around me which often had the impact of draining me of energy. I often heard the phrase “Calm down!” I wasn’t hysterical, but I have such a lust for life that I burst with enthusiasm as I loved to connect to people and have fun – I didn’t know how to ‘contain myself’ and again, often felt like I was a problem to those who wanted to maintain order (teachers, bosses etc). I’ve heard the word “shush” more times than I care to remember and once even The Sunday Times described me as like an ‘Andrex puppy with boundless enthusiasm’ when I was on a TV show and they were preparing the weeks’ listings!

These days, I have none of this. My energy is calm and centred for the most part, and I believe that it is because I am grounded—firmly rooted. What has helped is movement—being active, getting out of my head and into my body. Movement is medicine.

For me movement could be running (I put my headphones on and crank up the beats!), spinning or my particular favourite – dance aerobics. I do that class twice a week, and I can’t be anywhere other than in my body as I concentrate on the steps and flow – twirling and spinning around the dance floor. It’s better than a night out! I also love yoga, but I go barefoot for it.

When you are not grounded, you are emotionally vulnerable. You are not present in the ‘now’ of your life. You could be off in your head, daydreaming or just emotionally detached – a step removed from ‘everyone else’. I make being grounded a priority for me now. Ensuring that my energy is firmly planted in my body so that I can be both more productive in my activities and also feel a sense of peace and control as I go about my day. I take a holistic approach to guide my mind and body to connect and this also helps me tap into and trust my own intuition.

Stillness facilitates that.

If you are affected by your emotions, don’t worry too much about moulding yourself into what you think you ‘should’ be or how you ‘should’ act. Ask yourself each day – ‘how do you want to feel?’ and allow yourself to be guided by that.

Easter Eggs Ways To Enjoy Easter

So, alongside the delicious Easter eggs that you’ll want, or eggs that are a little different for those who aren’t quite into chocolate, get thinking about what else you could do on this fabulous day (which falls on a four-day weekend of course).

A Friendly Morning
Why not catch up with some friends? In fact, as it’s Easter Sunday, you don’t even need to leave the house. Instead, get all those delicious breakfast foods in and cook up a storm for you and your mates while sitting back and having a good catch-up. Just don’t forget the good coffee.

Boozy Brunch
Maybe you don’t want to stay in, so call your friends and arrange to meet up for a boozy brunch. There are plenty of places you could go that’ll only be a stone’s throw away. After all, brunch is hugely popular at the moment. Just try to pace yourself.

Some Me Time
If you don’t want to see anyone, have some time to yourself. Wake up late, stay in your comfy clothes all day, and treat yourself to a day-long pamper session. You can even catch up on your shows, reading, or podcasts. Be sure to get all those relaxing essentials like candles, body oils, and face masks in beforehand.

Get Away
With it being a four-day weekend, you could even get away during the Easter Bank Holiday. Whether it’s by yourself, with friends or with your partner, plenty of European city breaks are just waiting for you. From places dripping in culture to ones with a party atmosphere, the choice is all yours.

Charity
If you want to do something more meaningful with your bank holiday, why not do something for charity? So many places need people to volunteer, and you’ll be able to find one. Or, if you want to go a step further, see what charity events are happening that you could raise some money for. You could even organise something yourself if you wanted.

Creating A Festival On Your Own

Creating a festival in your own back garden is a low-cost way of entertaining the children this summer. If you enjoy the sun’s warmth on your skin with an ice-cold drink and some popular music to listen to, here are 10 ways you can do some summer holiday activities to produce those feel-good vibes at home.

2. Music: Every festival needs tunes so round up the children to sing their best songs and ask any budding guitarists in the family to perform on your main stage to a capacity crowd. A festival at home is a great excuse to invite your family and friends round to enjoy a free day out! Once the performers have done their set, tune into the radio for non-stop harmonies.

2. Food: Another element of a great festival is savouring tasty street food, from BBQ grills to burritos. Appreciate the smell of outdoor cooking in the air, light up the barbecue, and prepare your feast, but don’t forget to leave room for a cupcake or churro afterwards!

4. Decorate: A festival wouldn’t look like a festival without bunting, glow sticks and solar lights. Get the children to make some decorative flags and tie them around the trees, fence posts and doorways to dress up your pitch. At the local pound shop, you can pick up craft items to make the bunting, along with glow sticks and lights.

5. Face painting: Festivals are all about expression, and anything goes. If your children want to become a butterfly or a spider for the day, do a web search for ‘children face paint ideas’ and use the images as inspiration for your own designs. You could even put a heart or a star onto your own cheekbone and get into the swing of it.

6. Games: There are always frolics at any outdoor music event, so factor some garden games into your plans. A hula hoop display or dance contest gets everyone moving and bubbles are always a welcome sight for children and adults at a festival!

7. Wristbands: Is it ‘access all areas’ or VIP only? Ask the children to design some wristbands for the family to wear to recreate the true festival experience. Some ribbon cut to fit around a wrist with enough left over to form a knot should do it. Let the children decide what colour ribbon indicates your level of access to the festival!

8. Camping: Pitch your tent to enjoy a night under the stars. There’s nothing like being under canvas to make you feel free. The comfort and privacy of your own back garden mean that you can have snug duvets and fluffy sheepskins if you like—think of it as glamping!

9. Storytelling: As the night falls, cuddle up in your onesies and blankets to keep warm while taking turns telling stories by torchlight. Festivals and storytelling are all about creativity, so have a prize for the best story voted for by the rest of the family.

10. Make memories: Take plenty of photos to remember your summer of love where the whole family got together to enjoy being connected to the moment and each other. Festivals tend to get talked about long after the event has passed and as you are at home, your camera or phone should be fully charged up!
