A Breath of New Life For Your Skin – Review: Fulham Exclusive

When Büty Salon in Fulham asked me if I wanted to try a Microdermabrasian treatment I was a little nervous. I’m in my early twenties, so a face-lift, non-surgical or otherwise, has never even entered my mind. However, when I found out more about the Chroma Oxy treatment I discovered that anti-aging is only one of the benefits that it offers.

The Chroma Oxy system is the only treatment that offers Microdermabrasion, Oxygen therapy, Red and Blue LED light therapy, vacuum and vibrational tissue massage all in one concise package.

I was shown into the treatment room by Sam, the technician who would spend the next hour and a half working on my face, neck and décolletage. She explained the Chroma Oxy treatment to me and offered me a number of options regarding my personal treatment.

I have combination skin (dry cheeks and an oily t-zone) and due to my age, it is thinner and more elastic than most of the skin Sam teats with Chroma Oxy. For that reason two modifications were made: during the light treatment a combination of red and blue photon light neutralises skin bacteria (blue light) and produces collagen (red light), I only had the blue light which was focused on my oily t-zone. Similarly, during the microdermabrasion, tiny crystal microspheres are passed across the skin to deliver precision exfoliation. For my skin, this was on the lowest setting, and Sam did not use the vibration technology with it, as that is mainly beneficial for anti-aging.

First the toxins were ‘vacuumed’ out of my skin. This increases blood flow and lymph circulation, and left my skin feeling plump and rosy. Then came the microdermabrasion, which was uncomfortable but not unbearably so; the kind of uncomfortable where you can tell that it’s doing something good, rather like going to the gym!

My skin was then treated with a specially formulated purifying serum, which was then pushed deep into my skin with pulsed oxygen pressure, after which came the light therapy and a hydrosoothing mask to restore the natural moisture balance of my skin. This last bit was incredibly relaxing, and though the noises of the Chroma Oxy machine were still there in the background, I found myself drifting off, just like with a manual facial.

A few days on and my skin looks fresh and young, it is velvet soft and my blemishes have faded. I would recommend this treatment for anyone who wants younger looking skin without the hassle or cost of botox or a chemical peel. A single treatment is £83, but a complete course of ten is recommended to see the best results on older or problem skin.
